The Brand

 

Velvet Morning is a luxury street wear brand, conceived in 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia and came to fruition in Bali, Indonesia with avant-garde style collections featuring hand dyed knitwear, light weight dresses, bamboo cotton stretch wear, ultra comfortable wedge sandals and leather accessories. It stands for poetic modern expression. The Velvet Morning label is inspired by women, contemporary art, minimalism and timeless elegance.

The aesthetic is minimalistic, clean asymmetrically cut, extremely feminine silhouettes, each garment is exquisitely tailored to fit a woman’s figure. The designs are unconventional and they aim to empower the one that wears them.

Every design made by Velvet Morning is produced in a small artisan studio and entirely crafted by hand using only high quality natural and recycled materials.

Our collections are not strictly seasonal, each item we produce is timeless and it could be worn at any time of the year and any occasion. Having season less collections allows us to fully work through and test new materials and forms.

This kind of attention and work put into one style to bring it to perfection would be impossible without longer dedication to each item.

Slow fashion, high quality and long lasting garments are the core values of our brand. We are an eco conscious brand and we will continue working towards further sustainable practices with each collection.

Tijana Matic was born and raised in vanishing Yugoslavia. She received her degree in Audio – Visual Arts

at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade and also graduated at the Indonesian institute of Arts in Traditional Arts on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia, where she discovered a wide range of natural materials and was introduced to Balinese craftsmanship, with whom she developed  unique and high end items.
